HI! My name is Tammy Knox, and I am fundraising for a dear friend, Katy Johnson. Katy is a reading interventionist and long-time teacher at Temple Charter Academy in Temple, Tx. In June of this year, Katy was diagnosed with breast cancer. She immediately began aggressive chemotherapy and in January had a mastectomy. During all of her chemo treatments, Katy still attended work despite all of her debilitating side effects. Now, she is at home recuperating from surgery. Despite her coworkers donating work days to her, she is out of paid days and will now not receive a paycheck until she goes back to work, after Spring Break. I would love to give her the peace of mind to be able to not worry about finances while she stays home to heal, as she is still awaiting reconstructive surgery and radiation. Katy has helped so many people at school and in our community in their time of need, let's give back now that she is on the opposite end!
