Let's help Katie BEAT breast cancer!
Spende geschützt
Katie Bially is loved by her countless friends, family and especially by her husband Andy Wright, parents Corinne and Ken and brother Casey.
On January 10, 2022 at the age of only 29, Katie was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. This is a type of breast cancer that is difficult to treat. The diagnosis was devastating and occurred shortly after they relocated to Washington DC for Katie's new job.
While still working, Katie has courageously endured months of chemotherapy and numerous hospitalizations. This week, she underwent surgery and will soon begin radiation treatments to prevent spread and recurrence.
Fortunately, Katie's prognosis is good, but because this form of breast cancer is aggressive, the treatment approach is extremely challenging. Katie's husband and her parents have been by her side every step of the way.
As Katie continues to navigate her long road to recovery we want to show her and Andy our collective love and support. While Katie does have healthcare insurance, we learned that she recently ran out of paid sick days. Emily and I decided to create this fundraiser because Katie is more than a friend, she is our sister.
Our goal is to raise funds to help with everyday living expenses. We hope to ease her stress and make her feel more comfortable during this difficult time. We want her to know how much she is loved even if many of us are far away.
Whether you are a family member, co-worker, friend from either Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School or Appalachian State University we ask that you share this effort to help support Katie and Andy during her recovery.
We hope everyone (or anyone) who reads this will consider making a donation so we can exceed our goal to help Katie and Andy!
Any amount will be greatly appreciated...
with gratitude,
