I'm Jesse Haworth and reaching out to help one of our own at Girard Playground.

On April 21, 2025, Katherine Bonnet was involved in a serious car accident while driving northbound on Clearview Parkway. An intoxicated, out-of-state driver turned the wrong way onto West Metairie and crashed into her vehicle. That driver was arrested for DUI, but unfortunately had no insurance—and Katherine didn’t have uninsured motorist coverage. To make matters worse, the driver is unable to pay for the damages caused.

Katherine now faces $5,500 in repair costs out of pocket.

She works two selfless jobs to support her family. By day, she’s a dedicated teacher with 7 years at Harold Keller Elementary where she teaches Special Education to 3rd through 5th graders. In the evenings, she serves as the Girls Supervisor at Girard, where she ensures our children enjoy the structure, fun, and life lessons that youth sports provide. She’s someone who gives her time, heart, and energy to our kids every single day.

Now it’s time we give back to her.
