Arthur Wayne Wolf, 76, of Chicago, IL passed on April 9, 2021. He was born to Clarence and Lorraine Wolf on February 6, 1945. He loved to fish and if you were up early enough you could catch him at the piers. Art was a longtime member of the East Andersonville Residents Council. Many remember him in front of the grill at the Block Parties and Hot Dog Socials. Art liked to dress up as Santa for the EARC holiday caroling at the local nursing home. One could usually find Art watching out over the neighborhood from his front porch. He was an advocate for our community and will be greatly missed throughout Andersonville.
Art is survived by his wife and longtime EARC member, Karen and children, John (Vicki), (Michelle), and Artie (Stacy). As well as his grandchildren Veronica, Ana, Tony, Tamara, Dylan, Alejandro and Kaleb. Arthur was an uncle to many.
Preceded in death by his daughter, DeeDee, and son, Wayne.
We are raising funds for our neighbor and longtime EARC treasurer, board member, block rep, and CAPS facilitator, Karen Wolf. Karen has been there to help this neighborhood through her many years of service from her work on EARC to her work to eliminate the gangs from our community. Karen has been a resident of Andersonville since 1983. She has been a tenant in the same two-flat on Gregory since then and has been through countless landlords and several alderpeople. In addition to their own children, Karen and Art were also foster parents and have positively impacted with the lives of numerous young men. She has watched the neighborhood change and has continually been an advocate for the community throughout her years as a resident.
Karen is currently on a limited fixed income that is going to be affected by the loss of Art. We are raising money to help support this wonderful woman that has supported our community for so long. The funds raised will go to help with Karen’s rent and groceries for the next six months while she figures out her next steps, as well as an unexpected medical bill due to Art’s Cancer.
