Hi, as most of you know our friend, hairstylist, and sister in Christ, Karen Blanton has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Healthy plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow and crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications.
Karen has already started treatment at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Without income or insurance, medical and life expenses add up. Karen has an army of support behind her and we want to lesson the load so she can concentrate on fighting and getting better everyday! She has a long road ahead of her and desires your prayers. If you are unable to give we understand, and ask that you pray for our friend!! Thank you so much!
