Let’s help Kai!

Avah is one of the kindest people I know and loves her dogs more than anything in the world! Kai was a foster fail. He was found as a stray in Camden and luckily rescued. Despite him having several health concerns, including epilepsy, she decided to officially adopt him and keep him as part of her family. Kai is the sweetest and snuggliest boy! Kai Update: I picked him up around 11pm yesterday. He had chest Xrays since he is an older dog and was going under anesthesia - they were clear. The endoscopy showed a diffusely mildly heterogenous spleen, gastric wall thinking at 1.2 cm with loss of layering and microhepatica(small liver) Unfortunately a moderate amount of food still remained in his stomach despite us following the fasting guidelines. This suggest a delay in gastric emptying which can be seen with underlying GI disease. His gastric wall was thick, swollen with fluid and pale. We took gastric biopsies. Given the food in his stomach they werent able to advance the endoscope into his intestines which would have been ideal Depending on his biopsy results, a second endoscopy would be needed to reach his intestines, which means paying for one, AGAIN Kai is also exhibiting concerning neurological signs (he does have epilepsy) and we are getting evaluated with a new doctor at Red Bank Animal Hospital tomorrow. I'm really excited for this neuro, he came highly recommended. I am hoping his neuro issues are due to his digestion problems effecting how his seizure medicine is being metabolized in his body (he takes 4 pills a day for his epilepsy) Worst case scenario is cancer and Best case scenario is inflammatory disease. Our biopsy results should be in tomorrow warning: one video is a little graphic. It was at 330am. I took it to show the neuro tomorrow. I don't know if he is in pain or having a variation of a seizure. Thank you to all who have supported Kai's medical care. We appreciate it more than you know.
