Let's help Julie Blake fight cancer!

It's with a heavy heart I'm here to ask our community for help for one of our beloved families, the Blakes. Julie, Casey, Cambria, and Jaden have been in our lives from the earliest days at Peri Park, through the years at Brookside and White Hill, and even after they moved from Marin to Palm Desert in 2015.

Only a few weeks ago, Casey let me know that Julie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain Cancer. She was recently released to spend her time at home with her family, only to just recently have a minor heart attack. They are in need of full-time care and help with her mobility. Unfortunately, insurance will only cover portions of her care and needs. There are items like a speech tablet (as she is non-verbal) and a specialty chair that tilts to allow her standing machine to slide under that insurance will not pay for. There is also medical transport as Casey is not comfortable taking her to appointments alone.

Jaden is studying to become a teacher at CalSate Monterey and Cambria has decided to move home from SF for the time-being and hopes to continue her passion for community work. Julie would want them to continue living their lives but care is too large a task for Casey to handle alone and Cambria has decided to move home to help out.
