UPDATE FROM JAMILLAH
Many of us have lost loved ones, and you know first hand how much that hurts. You don’t need me to tell you about the power of love. You also probably know that faith moves mountains, but this post is a reminder. On February 8, my dad was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia and sepsis. After living 4 years with Stage 4 Cancer and a stroke, it didn’t seem possible that he would easily recover. He had stopped eating and drinking. He refused meds. Things looked grim. @Omequetzal Lopez, @Dayanna Sevilla and @Elisha Henderson organized a circle of care and support for me and my family to weather the storm. 30 of my loved ones offered immediate financial support. I was able to drop everything to go be with my father for what I believed were his last days. I made it to England just in time. As friends and family called, what my dad heard repeatedly was “I LOVE YOU.” Love is a powerful thing. Not only did my dad hang on for my arrival. Each day, he got a little better. My family, Urfan Muhammad, @Quita Ebbin @Judy Campbell Jabari Ebbin Genghis Ebbin showed up with fierce love to make their presence felt. By Thursday, he was the most stable patient on the fragile covid ward. No oxygen needed. By Friday he was discharged. Thank you for helping me show my father how much I love him. I am reaching out to community for our sister Jamillah. Her father is very ill and she is making plans to get to him ASAP.
We all know how much she gives to our community. Now it’s time for us to send an avalanche of prayer and financial support so she can be with her father who lives in the UK.
All funds will go toward an expedited emergency passport, housing and flights for her and Earl so that she can be fully present with her father at this time and not have the weight of these unexpected costs on her mind.
