Let’s help her Fight Breast Cancer!

Hello to our friends and family!

We have decided to start this gofundme account to help with the medical expenses, travel expenses and loss of wages. We are both missing many days of work due to testing and soon will be completely off of work due to surgery.

This has been a really hard year for our family and finding out this recent news has been heartbreaking. Tammy lost her mom last year and Tony, her husband, lost his dad a few weeks later. They have a 14 yr old daughter together and they also have a 14 yr old son, along with a 26 yr daughter and two beautiful grandchildren.

Tammy went in for her routine mammogram the beginning of November of 2022, then she received the devastating news that they found a mass. At that time she was referred down to Reading, PA to have a consultation on 11/16/2022 where they setup the first of many tests. She had her first biopsy done on one breast on 11/30/2022 and received her diagnosis that no one ever wants to receive on 12/4/2022 that she has breast cancer. They immediately scheduled her for an MRI on 12/9/2022 and she received the call a few days later that it was not only in one breast but in both. She then met with a plastic surgeon in Reading, PA on 12/22/2022 to discuss a full mastectomy and breast reconstruction (he was not very helpful).

We decided to change to Hershey Medical and began the process all over on 1/6/2023. They went on to run additional testing which included: MRI with dye in her left breast, biopsy on the left breast, an ultrasound on both lymph nodes and another mammogram. We will receive final results on 1/11/2023, praying that it has not spread to her lymph nodes, and then meet with their plastic surgeon to perform full mastectomy and breast reconstruction.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and we know times are tough for everyone, but every little bit will help tremendously.

Update 1/11 - The biopsy in left breast was negative but they did find another spot. They stated that they would not do another biopsy since they are removing both breasts anyways. Still waiting to hear about the lymph node results. Appointment with plastic surgeon is scheduled for 2/14. And surgery should be soon after that since they are working on that date now. She will be in surgery for about 6 hours. As of now they do not believe she will have to go through chemotherapy.
