Sophie's dog attack-please help
I want to help my sister, so I created this donation page. My sister, Sabrina, would never ask for help, so I am doing it for her. Any donations towards Sophie's veterinarian bill will be greatly appreciated. On Friday, January 13, 17, Sophie went missing from her home. She somehow ended up in the neighbor's yard, where she was mauled by their dog. The following is an excerpt from my sister, Sabrina's FB page, from that first night they found Sophie.
"Not many of you know that I have been going through hell since Friday afternoon...I came home from working at my boss's home, only to find Sophie was missing. She looked so peaceful sunning herself in our yard and didn't want to come in, so I left the back door open, thinking she would curl up on my bed if she missed me.
It is 430 am on Monday and I'm unable to sleep...the anger, guilt and sadness are intense....I'm so relieved to know where my Sophie is tonight, safe at the emergency vet hospital, but the guilt of knowing she was mauled by a neighbor's dog and in pain, while so close to home is overwhelming. I was out constantly during the days and both nights looking for her, calling her name. She was "found" (yes, I am using that term loosely) yesterday afternoon, literally about an hour away from death, so I immediately rushed her to the emergency vet hospital. The vet called me 3 hours after I left and said she is critical but stable....she is septic from the wounds that had been inflicted 2 nights prior and she was hanging 2 antibiotics and 2 different pain meds during the night, along with fluids...she will be having surgery this morning and lots of recovery over the next few weeks with wound care, drains and possibly another surgery.
What makes me sick to my stomach is that the man whose yard she was in admitted to knowing she was there since Friday night and also admitted to hearing a whining dog in his back yard. His dogs take shelter underneath his house, so I'm wondering if his dog drug sophie underneath too, and that is why I never saw her. He has to know she is my dog; his dog tries to get to her through our fence on a daily basis and he has had to build his fence up higher in the back to prevent that dog from jumping over...my sweet sophie runs into our house every time he charges at her, so exactly HOW did she get into his back yard?! Why would she jump INTO his yard when she is so scared of that dog?! The anger and disgust towards him is overwhelming, and there are so many missing pieces to this story, but I have to give it all to God or else the anger will eat me up and I need my energy so I can take care of my girl. Thank you for all the prayers; they are needed. This proves that no matter how long you live by someone (over 15 years), you never really know that person."
During this first week, Sophie was so critical, she wasn't able to be taken to surgery until Tuesday night and spent over 3 hours being worked on. She ended up with 3 antibiotics hanging, 2 different IV fluids and couldn't walk until Wedsnesday afternoon. During surgery, they even found a tooth embedded into her muscle. There is 1 shoulder wound that will need a skin graft soon. Sophie has been at the emergency vet since Sunday night and my sister is overwhelmed by the guilt and sadness, so this is my way of helping her. Thank You in advance and God Bless You!

Below is from Saturday afternoon; the first thing she does when she sees my sister is crawl into her lap and snuggle. She is finally starting to get some sparkle back into her eyes.
