Let’s Help Heal Our Nurse & Friend Nicole!

It’s Nurses Week! -and I’m here asking you to help care for a nurse & friend that has always been busy happily putting the needs of others above herself-Nicole Rosado. Tragically, she has become disabled and truly could use our assistance. Hempfield Grad 1996 and Pitt 2000. After 15 years of ER nursing Nicole learned that being an RN and caring for others caused her spinal cord to almost be severed. They did not think she would ever walk again. She has had 5 surgeries in 4 years and this week faces 2 more surgeries. She lives in and will be recovering in a home with 3 levels and many, many steps, in which she cannot navigate safely. In order to recover from these final 2 surgeries and to make her back last as long as possible, as a start, it is imperative to get her into a ranch home to help make her life handicap accessible. There are many things that need to be changed and adapted so that she can participate in many things that most of us take for granted. I’ve watched her struggle for years and still smile through the pain and the tears, but she needs a better situation to help her heal as best as she can. I’m hoping that many of us pitching in together can help make this happen.

Hoping that many can help give something to help in her own time of need after she has selflessly dedicated her life to care for so many in our community.
