Let’s help give this boy the memorial he deserves

In this most difficult time this family needs as much help and support as they can get to help with Jesse’s (as most know him as Tubby) funeral cost. Tubby was just 14 years old when he gained his angel wings due to heart failure. Tubby was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Dextrocardia and had his 1st heart surgery at only 6mo old. This past September Tubby was admitted in to Oishei Children’s Hospital where he was diagnosed with the Rhinovirus. A week later he was transferred to Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong Memorial where his heart team has been since birth. While at Golisano there were a lot of ups and downs as the family was told he would need another heart surgery, but yet strong did not feel comfortable performing it. Tubby was denied by Pittsburgh as well as NYC. The family was not giving up there! Golisano had plans to release Tubby from the hospital on Nov.10 and the family had plans of reaching back out on their own to NYC for a 2nd opinion in hopes he would be accepted and able to get what he needed. Tubby was beyond excited to finally go home to his 3 sisters (1 who he looked at as a sister) with his parents and new baby brother and be able to bond as a family again. His 3 loving sisters we’re waiting for that same moment after the lengthy stay at Golisano, however Tubby started to not feel well on the night before he was supposed to be released so he remained at Golisano where he gained his angel wings that following morning.

During this sad time we know there will be a lot that this family will have to deal with and they will need time together to process what has happened.

We would like to relieve some of the financial burden that they will be faced with over the next few days/weeks and allow the family to grieve together the emptiness they are feeling.

As parents it is just so unnatural to have to think

about organizing a funeral for a child, especially when it is so unexpected.
