Let's Help Gail Proteau St. Martin Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Michele McKay and I'm raising money to help my friend with her medical expenses and day-to-day living expenses as she battles cancer.
Worrying about how to pay for co-pays, utilities, food or gas should be the least of one's worries when they're fighting the fight that she's facing.
Gail Proteau St. Martin is very “good people”. If you know her you will agree. Gail is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, friend to many and my best friend from way back in middle school.
Let me tell you a little about who she is and what she needs….
Gail has been diagnosed with Stage 2 cancer in her lymph node located behind her tonsil. Surgery was discussed, but because of the size of the tumor and the location, it's too risky. It’s been determined that the best treatment for this type of tumor is for her to have chemotherapy followed by radiation.
It's not a simple cancer to attack. Gail had her port installed last week and will need a feeding tube and also will require speech therapy because the radiation will affect her mouth and tongue.
Cancer treatment is very costly, not to mention that she will not be able to continue working as she goes through her treatments.
Gail works as a Certified Peer Specialist for an organization in Fort Myers, FL. As a Peer Specialist, she helps deliver counseling to help change people’s lives who are dealing with mental health or substance abuse issues to a place where they can put their lives back in order again. They find housing for people who are left without a place to stay and reunite parents with their children after they’ve been separated due to addiction problems. Gail’s career can be heartwarming when there’s a success story, or heart breaking when somebody decides to make some wrong choices. Regardless, she’s been lead to this career that she loves and looks forward to getting back to work to help others.
Please consider making a donation to help Gail as she goes through this difficult challenge.
Our goal is set at $30,000. Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
