ACF Animal Rescue and sanctuary for abused animals

This campaign is fully endorsed by ACF Animal Rescue in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s first medical camps for abused donkeys and dogs, and neglected animals suffering in horrific pet markets

ACF is the first and largest animal rescue, shelter, sanctuary and ambulance service for injured, neglected and abused animals in Pakistan.

So far, we have rescued and rehabilitated over 8000 dogs, cats, donkeys, monkeys and birds in Karachi.

These animals have suffered severe abuse at the hands of humans; some have had acid thrown on them, their little bodies sizzling in pain. Puppies have had their ears chopped off. Kittens have had boiling water thrown on them. Donkeys are beaten mercilessly to carry heavy loads on carts and then barely given any water and made to eat whatever plastic they find in the garbage. Their bodies are always in pain due to multiple wounds that keep becoming worse as they are hit again where there was already a wound the day before, still bleeding. Whipped to walk on broken legs is a norm and eye infections due to pollution are so terrible that the donkeys are almost blind while navigating the congested roads with nonstop traffic.

Monkeys are screaming in agony, distressed and disoriented in pet markets, trapped in a tiny bird cage, not being able to even lift their heads or stand up, let alone, turn around. They are taken away as babies from their mothers and aren’t given any food or water for days on end.
Dogs on the street live in fight or flight mode, always sleeping with one eye open, or not sleeping at all as they are shot in the head or poisoned in broad daylight in public places like it’s nothing, with people laughing and pointing as the dog is screaming and bleeding to death.

Persian and Siamese cats, puppies, exotic birds, porcupine, fox, and all kinds of wildlife are trapped in cages in pet markets with no food and water, just skin and bone, dying slowly in the scorching heat of Karachi. They are seen as property, just sold from one person to another for breeding or hunting and then returned or abandoned and stolen again.

There is almost NOTHING being done for animals in Pakistan. Our team singlehandedly not just schedules Medical relief camps for labour donkeys in all areas, we are now also trying to work with the government to better the condition of these pet markets as it’s not possible to just shut them down. They are decades old and have roots we don’t know of.

We also provide rabies vaccinations and neutering for street dogs to manage the stray dog population humanely. All these projects run at our own expense through private donations.

There are no animal right laws in Pakistan. We are a small team working against all odds, using social media, flyers and one on one conversations and empathy to educate people and change mindsets.

We want our mobile clinic to be solely dedicated for this purpose of all outreach work. This is separate to our sanctuary operations, hospital, rescue service and shelter that houses over 650 abused animals for rehabilitation at any given time.

We need your help. All our work can be seen on our social Media platforms.

The Animal welfare movement is only 8 years old in Pakistan and started with us. We want to do all we can to make it a reality in our country.
