My name is Jennifer, and I am Evan's mom. Evan is my sweet 30 year old son. Evan is severely cognitively impaired and autistic, and he lives in a small group home in my neighborhood.

I am creating this fundraiser to help out Evan's wonderful caregiver, Ruth. Her car is no longer repairable/salvageable, per several mechanics.

Besides her own personal use (Ruth will drive far and wide to view a Michigan sunrise, and to snuggle her grandchildren), she needs a vehicle to get to Evan's group home. Ruth cares for Evan so reliably and so kindly- she has been a lifesaver for our family. She takes him on many outings to ensure Evan is an active member of our community.

Ruth is just a gem and would never ask for help- she is loathe to even accept a loan. But I am hoping that the community can come together to help her purchase a car. Part of Ruth's work with Evan is to take him out into the community, and both she and Evan enjoy parks, trails, and even the mall and YMCA.

I am grateful to Ruth for being someone I 100% trust to take care of my vulnerable son. Evan lights up when Ruth arrives to care for him. It means a lot.
