Hello,

My name is Manique and I would like to raise funds for my cousin’s 3 month old son, Elias. He was born with dextrocardia where his heart is located on the right side instead of the left, in addition to a rare genetic condition called situs inversus. Elias’ chest and abdominal organs are formed in a mirror image of the normal human anatomy. His liver is located on the left side of his abdomen instead of the right. Elias developed a fever that prompted a visit to the hospital that found these conditions and him being diagnosed with another condition called biliary atresia. His liver does not have the valve needed to drain toxins from his body. About 1 in 15,000 babies have biliary atresia. In Elias’ case, he was born without a gallbladder where the valve would connect. Sadly, his liver is failing and now he and his family await a donor from the liver transplant list.

It has been an incredibly challenging couple of months for Elias and his family. They continue to pray and are staying positive and optimistic while trying to trust this difficult and scary process.
