Let’s help Deb Haefner kick cancer to the curb!

Dear Friends, Family & Colleagues of Deb;

My name is Kerri Martin-Holben, resident of Lakeway & friend of Deb Haefner. My family met Deb when she was lovingly helping to rehome our dog Samson after his hooman owner, Diane Thompson, resident of The Hills in Lakeway, passed away last June. Deb provided exceptional home care for Diane for two years. Prior to that Deb was the Service Director at Flintrock Falls Country Club and Membership Relations at the The Hills Country Club. We instantly knew how incredibly kind, caring and special Deb is upon meeting her & have built a wonderful friendship. And Samson simply adores her too.

For those of you who know & love ❤️ Deb, she’s the consummate definition of a ‘care’giver & lover of life. When we heard that Deb was yet again in ‘warrior mode’ facing another fight to kick cancer to the curb, we knew we had to help provide care and comfort to Deb in any way we could. One of those ways is to help relieve the financial burden of medical expenses, moving expenses, rehab and all the little things that inevitably come up. As much as humanely possible, we want Deb to focus on her long road to a healthy recovery.

On Sunday, December 4th, Deb is moving up to Dallas with her furry baby girl Bryn so she can be near her family as she recovers & rehabs from the surgery to eradicate cancer and help save her leg. Yes, this surgery truly is a last resort effort to save her leg ❤️‍.

In the words of Deb…” The Countdown begins…Surgery is a week from today (Dec 6th, 2022) to rebuild my thigh. I have a recurrence of cancer in my right thigh called dedifferentiated liposarcoma. Tumor has encased my femoral bone & nerve. Team of doctors at UTSouthwestern in Dallas will remove tumor, entire 4 quadricep muscles and 9” of bone. Back lat muscle will replace quad muscle & titanium will replace my bone along with a titanium rod. This is the last surgery to save my leg. Life changing for me and road to recovery will be a long one. Thanks to everyone for all the love & support thru this bump in the road called life.❤️”
