Let's help David - the man who has helped us all

Dear Friends,

The 18th January will mark a year since our dear friend David contracted Pneumococcal meningitis and Sepsis. The complications he has suffered have resulted in him having part amputations to both his feet, a severe brain injury and impairment to his hearing.

Against all the odds, David is still fighting with strength and determination. The infection has had a dramatic effect on both David and Russell’s lives. Although he has made huge gains in his rehabilitation, he still has a mountain to climb.

Everyone one of you have shown so much love and support to them, and some of you have asked how we can extend this. After speaking with Russell, he has agreed for us to set up a crowdfunder for David. The aim is to raise enough money to purchase a tilt in space chair for David that’s not covered in his NHS care package and any essential equipment. There’s also an opportunity to get some specialist therapy that he isn’t currently being offered for when he moves back home to recover.

We don’t have a target, but the chair is around £3,000 plus any other equipment he may need. The rehabilitation will be ongoing so any support you can offer these two would be very welcome. Let’s get our David the support and help he deserves.
