Hi friends! We’ve put together this GoFundMe in support of two wonderful, loving people in the community. David and Sarah are two compassionate, caring, and selfless individuals who are very active in their families’ lives. They fell in love hard and fast, and when they married in November 2024 it was very apparent that they were meant to complete each other’s lives.

In late February 2025, David went to the doctor because he was having problems swallowing and they discovered his tonsil was swollen to the point of blocking his airway and throat. He was immediately sent for a CT scan the same day, where the doctors discovered a large growth that filled the back of his throat up and extended up to his tonsillar cavity. David was sent to an ENT the next day, where the doctor suspected that David’s growth was cancerous and scheduled him for a tonsillectomy/biopsy the following Monday. Immediately following the surgery, David experienced severe complications which led to him being rushed into surgery again to stop severe bleeding. While he was recovering from the second surgery, David’s biopsy results came back with a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. After diagnosis, David had to have four teeth removed and have a PEG line implanted before he could start receiving treatment, which was delayed due to complications from those surgeries. .

As one can imagine, the stresses endured both physically and financially throughout this ordeal have been intense. David has been left unable to work, his short-term disability has ended, and they have had to rely solely on Sarah’s income for bills and the gas needed to travel back and forth to David’s appointments for treatment daily in Longview, which is quite a drive from their current home in Texarkana. We’re hoping to raise enough funding so that they can rest a little easier on at least one front, as David is still not out of the woods with his treatments and isn’t able to return to work until at least September.

Sarah and David have supported and uplifted their community and their families, and now it's our turn to support them. Let's come together to surround them with love and care.
