Hello everyone,

My name is Morgan Phillips and I have been Dakota Montgomery’s best friend for 25 years. Unfortunately, on July-3-2021 someone broke into his mother’s house, attacked Dakota while he was asleep, and hit him in the face with a rock, breaking his jaw in 2 places. Dakota will be having surgery on July-5-2021, as they have to wait for the swelling in his face to go down. They will be putting metal plates in his bottom jaw to realign his teeth and then wiring his jaw shut for 4 weeks for him to heal. He is in good spirits but in a tremendous amount of pain. He has a long road ahead of him but the doctor is hopeful he will gain full feeling and function back in his jaw and lips.

If anyone knows Dakota, he is not one to ask for help or favors but his medical bills are going to be really expensive after his ER visit, hospital stay, surgery, and aftercare. Anything will help. Please share and spread the word.

UPDATE: 7-5-2021

Dakota’s surgery was successful! He is in his room recovering. It took 6 hours but the doctor said everything lined up like he had planned. He will be monitored overnight and depending his pain, he should be allowed to go home tomorrow. He still has a long road ahead of him but he has started his recovery journey and is in high spirits! Dakota wanted to say thank you to everyone who has donated and shared his story. He is overwhelmed with the amount of love and support everyone has shown him.
