Hi, my name is Caitlin and I'm a friend of Cristina's (going all the way back when I was a lowly intern at the Department of Labor in 2011 and she befriended me).

Cristina recently underwent her 27th (!!!) brain surgery to combat and remove brain tumors that she has been battling since she was 12 years old. Cristina's second guide dog, Gilberto, has recently retired and she is without visual assistance in Washington, DC. Cristina needs more time to heal and has opted to take medical retirement after serving the Federal Government for 14.5 years. She is going to move from Washington, DC to Texas to heal and be closer to her family while she continues to recover.

Obviously, 27 brain surgeries in the United States are not cheap, and she needs a moving service to transport her belongings down to Texas. I have estimated that she needs approximately $10,000 to pay medical bills and move (hire movers, moving company, etc) but I suspect that the medical bills are much higher. It would be amazing if we could give Cristina a fresh start without bills as she heals and starts this new chapter in life!
