I have put together this go fund me for James' family to help with funeral expenses and any other expenses that are sure to come up over the next little while, as the family is grieving. James passed away on December 22nd, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle to cancer.

James was our President and Head Coach of the Seahawks Football Club, and even more than that if you knew James he was a part of your family! James was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer and despite his pain and suffering through years of chemo he still showed up EVERY SINGLE DAY for his football kids, they were a part of his family! James spent his life giving to others. He coached the Seahawks Minor Football Club, Park View Football Team, Halifax Women’s Xplosion and served as the first ever Commissioner of Coastal East 6v6. He was a proud supporter of the Nova Scotia Buccaneers, a 22 year military veteran, 18 year volunteer firefighter and 13 year minor football coach. I have only had the pleasure of knowing James for 3 years, most have know him a life time. In the very short 3 years of knowing James he has shown me what it is to have courage & strength he has taught me to never give up and fight for what you love and believe in. James’ love for football and his players never went unnoticed, he was a remarkable coach. He taught his kids that football was not only about the game, it was about being a family and respecting one another. There was no tolerance for bullying. He taught his kids to have each other’s backs on and off the field.

James, speaking for our Seahawks and Park View Panthers, I know we will feel an incredible loss with you gone, but I promise you coach your legacy will be carried forever. Your dedication and love for your teams will always be felt on that field every single day! It was an honour spending this last season on the field by your side. Football will never be the same without you. We love you Coach! We are thankful you are no longer suffering, selfishly we wish we could have kept you here with us much much longer!

RIP Coach. ️
