Let's help Christy KICK CANCERS ASS!

Hey everyone... most of you know my bestie Christy as one of the kindest, most generous, loving, and giving people on the planet. No matter how you met her whether it has been through work, mutual friends, boating, dining, or through the lab rescue she has volunteered with for years you will all agree Chirsty is someone you thank God for bringing into your life.

Seventeen years ago Christy was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to fight a tough battle that many of us hope to never have to go through. No worries Christy is a glass-half-full girl and she took that challenge and kicked cancer's ass! Through the years she has never waivered, never missed a doctor's appointment, and followed through with any recommended screening to ensure she would be here for a very long time to brighten our lives with her love and her perfect smile.

This past November, just before Thanksgiving, we got the scariest phone call possible... after 17 years the mammogram didn't come back clean. My first thought was Wait? What? Are you sure? Christy has lost some weight, has been walking with the dogs every day, and is feeling better than she has felt in a long time how can this be real? A biopsy *with a ridiculous deductible, an MRI with another hefty out-of-pocket deductible, and then yet even another biopsy to confirm it has spread to both breasts Christy was met with a team of doctors and confirmed our biggest fears... Yes, the cancer is back and a double mastectomy sooner rather than later is our next step.

Christy has already been taken off work from her part-time gig in the Emergency Department as her doctor does not want her exposed to the germs before surgery. Without that part-time gig in the ER, all the deductibles, the endless copays, and the loss of income there will be added stress where there needs to be none.
