Banoth Chanti, a 25 year old healthy male who lives in India is suffering from a serious health condition. He is identified to have Carcinoma Stomach Cancer Stage 4. He is currently taking treatment at Kamineni Hospital, LB Nagar, Hyderabad, India. He need to go through chemotherapy and the process is going on. He have been showing signs of recovery and his body is showing positive result in fighting cancer. But he would need more sessions Of treatment in order to fight cancer.
Now, Chanti lost weight from 75 kgs to 35 kgs drastically since the cancer in his stomach is not letting food go to the intestines. Even the water he drinks is not going through his system and he is puking out everything. He did undergo 3 chemo sessions but the doctors stopped 4th session since he is so weak that his body wouldn't be able to take it. But his cancer is not letting him eat anything and get strength. He is currently getting some energy through salines. The doctors suggested a surgery which includes a pipe sent into the intestines through which some food can be sent but it is very complicated and they cannot assure the success too. So, in order to go forward with anything, his body should gain energy first and unless he gain some, he cannot go through any chemo or surgery. He needs a lot of money to pass through this situation along with many prayers.
Not being very well connected with him, I have known him as my classmate. It feels immensely painful to see someone suffer and we always cannot help everyone due to many situations. He is from a middle class background where he runs a family. His parents go for daily wages where they earn just below Rs. 500/- a day together. He have a brother who is still pursuing studies. He used to work at a cement factory as a supervisor but he stopped his work several months ago due to ill health. He is married and have got 3 little kids, 2 girls of 5 yrs and 2 yrs and a baby boy of 7 months. He is not strong enough to bear all the expenses for the medication and even if he did cross the treatment phase, it will be so difficult for him to recover without working for a while. They already made a debt of about Rs. 4,00,000/- for his medication till now. His job is the only source of income in his family. I believe he have got a long life to go on and it’s not fair to lose it without any hope. He is a fighter and lets give him more strength. Let’s fight his cancer together and show we are more strong. Stronger than cancer.
