For the past 4 years I have been living in West Virginia, moved there by my acceptance into the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy. Being a private school they had no tutoring and lacked a number of resources necessary for student success. As a result, in early 2016 I was forced to resign and work at a garden center in a village 25 miles away just to survive.
My student loans, though consolidated, are still high from the high cost of 3 years of a private education. I had a car that allowed me to go to work, but in December of 2016 all of that changed in an instant. The job that was keeping me alive and well with a normal apartment vanished into thin air when my car suddenly broke down. Next my brakes failed and I lost the car to an accident. I sold it for parts last month and only got about $400 on it.
Now I moved to Los Angeles temporarily with my parents so I can save up without paying rent and hopefully get a car soon and work towards a promising career as a biology teacher. I can't afford tuition at WV State University because I can't hold a meaningful job without a car. Once I have a car, I believe I can finally save enough money to attend school again.
With your help I hope to buy a car soon and return to my hometown of Charleston, WV where I can take the Pharmacy Technician licensure examination right away and start working in a pharmacy. Average pay is about $15/hour. With a job like that I can save up and go to school in the Fall of 2018. The program will last 2 years and will allow me to teach K-12 biology and many other courses.
From there I can continue saving up and working up to a masters' degree and ultimately a Doctorate in Biological Sciences.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
