Let’s Help Brent and Shannon Through This Journey

Hi, my name is Laurie Hebert. My brother-in-law, Brent Chesson, has to have another brain surgery and chemo in Houston. They live in the Lake Charles area so they will have to rent an apartment for the time they are there…at $3500/month. Here’s a little of their story:
Brent was first diagnosed with Gliosarcoma in June of 2013. A 5 cm tumor was removed, then he went through one year of chemo and 8 weeks of radiation. They rented an apartment in Houston for 8 weeks during that time. He was stable for 10 years and was on surveillance (MRI’s and doctor visits continued every 3 months.)
In May of 2022, the doctors began to watch some white spots on his brain which showed up on the the MRI. They appeared to be residual effects of radiation. The white spots were watched until May of 2023. There were four spots (one tumor is currently 4 cm in the same area as the first time.) That tumor began to grow, at which time they started chemo again. He was able to complete ten cycles, but in March of 2024, the chemo became unsuccessful. The other three tumors are “stable” at this time. Stable is a good thing in the world of cancer. In June of 2023, Brent was no longer able to work. They filed for social security disability. They were denied twice, at which time an appeal process began and they are still waiting on payments.
This month, they opted to have surgery, which is scheduled for April 11th. The following months will require them to live in Houston for radiation and for him to begin a new course of chemotherapy.
Please keep your prayers coming. We all thank y’all in advance. ❤️❤️❤️
