Hi everyone! My name is Lilly and I started this GoFundMe for my brother, Brandon. For those who don’t know, Brandon was diagnosed with ESRD- End stage Renal failure (IGA nephrology) in 2014. He was rushed to the ER for an asthma attack, and was told for a 20 year old, his organs were functioning as if he was 80. One of his kidneys, completely dead, while the other was holding on for dear life, functioning at less than 20%. His heart barely functioning at less than 25%. With ESRD, the chances of a long life without a transplant is near impossible without the grueling task of going to dialysis.
Ten years later, and he’s is still here, fighting for his life. His physical health is depleting, but we never gave up. For the first time in a while, he’s received good news that his heart is finally strong enough to go through surgery. For the first time in ten years, we see a light. I couldn’t imagine my life without my brother, and I am so grateful that he’s worked so hard not just for himself, but for everyone he loves.
Even with the diagnosis, he hasn’t stopped. He goes to dialysis 4 times a week, for 4 hours at a time. He works full time and receives no additional funding. He makes sure he’s there for this friends and family, when he can. He always shows up. And that is something I admire most from him. No matter what he’s going through, how hard his day has been, he will always be there for you.
So this is to give him one less thing to worry about. With the surgery and all the other medical expenses, it is all over $500,000. We aren’t asking for all that. He would be out of work for a while to heal and will need some financial help to restart his life. He would never ask for help himself, so that is why I am here. Please consider donating anything you can, and if you can’t, please give this a share, send him some words of encouragements and love. Any little action can help and it is much appreciated.
Brandon deserves to finally live his life and I want to make that transition as stress free for him as much as I can.
