Brady's fight for life
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kristy I am the mom of Brady and this is his story.
Brady is 12 years old and has been through so much since he was born.
4 days after his 6th birthday Brady had his first stroke, we were so upset not knowing how this could have happened at such a young age. We were flown to St. Petersburg to John Hopkins Children's Hospital where Brady had an MRI, that's when we were told that he has a very rare brain disease called Moya-Moya "puff of smoke" Brady's vessels on the top of his brain were low in blood flow, we researched what Dr. has the most experience with this which happened to be Boston Children's Hospital. It was a couple weeks later that we were able to have a zoom meeting with Dr. Smith and Dr. Orbach on what the next steps would be. It was October 2015 when we took a journey up to Boston for his brain surgery. October 20 2015 was the day Brady had his brain surgery, the Dr.'s took vessels from his neck on each side and transplanted them onto the top of his poor vessels to take over for the blood flow
Brady suffered another stroke 10 days after his surgery and has had a few TIA's since 2015. His last TIA was 2018. We thought he was doing great and things were looking great, but about a year or so ago Brady has been experiencing black outs in his left eye. We had a zoom meeting with our Boston Dr.'s and asked us to go up for more testing because Brady's MRI from January showed low blood flow now in the back of his brain. We went up just this past week and the CTA Brady had confirmed that his vessels in the back of his brain need a new blood source. We were also told that Brady is also highly susceptible to have a stroke while in surgery as well. We will be traveling back to Boston as soon as school is out for Bradys brain surgery yet again. Brady's medical bills unfortunately will not be covered 100% by our insurance and we do expect the bills to be big, as he had 2 big scans done already.
We would like to ask for any donations possible to help pay for these bills when they come in. If you have never met Brady before you would just love him, he has such a wonderful personality loves life even though he has had a very tough life since the first stroke, he struggles as his stroke lead him to be a left handed kid, struggles with aphasia, and ADHD.
Those that do know Brady knows he has such a big personality and imagination.
We appreciate you for reading through and getting to know our baby boy and his struggles once again he has to face.
