Let’s Help Betty Edwards: New Wheelchair Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everyone —do you know my Nana? Betty Edwards, Ms. Betty, Mrs. Edwards, John’s Wife, Keith and Mark’s Mom. Sound familiar? I thought so! Henderson County wouldn’t be the same without her.
She started Hope Academy (now The Hope Center). She brought the Special Olympics to our community. She fostered special needs kids and adults for 25+ years. And honestly, that’s just scratching the surface. Nana has spent her life making a difference for people with special needs in our community. (Drop a comment and share how you’ve seen her help!)
Now, it’s our turn to help Nana—just like she’s helped so many—by getting her a new wheelchair.
She needs a new wheelchair through Numotion in Charlotte, NC. Insurance covers most of it, but there’s still a $2,800 gap, and she can’t cover it alone. But that’s where we come in. I’ve set up a GoFundMe to help with the remaining costs. Whether it’s $10, $100, or $1,000, every dollar gets Nana closer to what she needs. (Can’t donate? No worries—a handwritten note or a visit would mean the world to her.)
With a new wheelchair, Nana will be back to doing what she loves:
- Winning at Bingo with her friends
- ️️ Enjoying a big plate at Golden Corral
- ️️ Shopping around town
- Getting creative with her painted rocks
- Keeping her home just the way she likes it
- … and, of course, giving her great-grandkids the best wheelchair rides ever.
So, who’s in? Let’s make sure Nana keeps doing what she loves. Every penny gets her closer to that new wheelchair, and together, we can make it happen. Remember, she’s spent her life helping our community—now it’s our turn to help her.
