Hello my name is Chris Granger. I work for the Vermont Department of Corrections. Brattleboro Probation and Parole Community Corrections Program Supervisor Beth McLean was diagnosed with Colon cancer more than 3 years ago. She has been fighting this diagnosis and has undergone many various treatments and rounds of chemo in order to keep the cancer from spreading. She has been told that the cancer has metastasized and is now in many areas of her body. She has been told that she might have 6 months left to live and with more treatment it could possibly extend her life another few more months beyond the 6. She has been working at the office during treatment and on and off from home when she can't physically make it to the office. Most recently she was admitted to the hospital for a procedure and I learned that she was working from a laptop while admitted in the hospital. Her leave balances are minimal and I have created this Go Fund Me to assist her and her family should she be forced to go off payroll because she has run out of sick leave. As many of you know the VTDOC is a tight knit family that takes care of their own. I would like to encourage anyone to donate to Beth, her husband and young son in order to ease the burden of her having to work while fighting for her life.
