Hello, my name is Glenn Omanio and I am fund-raising on behalf of a very good friend Yellowbelle Duaqui, or Belle/YB to many of us. Belle is currently a part-time Lecturer of Sociology and a PhD Candidate of Sociology at De La Salle University Manila.

On September 10th, 2022, Belle was hospitalized due to a hypertensive emergency and chronic anemia at Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

To address her anemia, she underwent a polypectomy or diagnostic dilatation and curettage procedure to remove a cervical polyp on November 23rd in the same hospital.

However, last December 2022, the biopsy result of her tissues revealed endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma, a form of uterine and endometrial cancer. An MRI scan showed that most of the cancer cells are contained in the endometrium with no metastasis.

Her OB-Gynecologist and OB-Oncologist advised her to immediately undergo major surgery this January to remove all reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. This intervention is aimed to stop the spread of cancer and save her life.

The immediate cancer surgery and treatment are estimated to cost Belle at least PhP 600,000 (USD 10,800; JPY 1.4 Million). The post-operative recovery period means that Belle will be unable to work and not earn any income in the next couple of months.

Thus, Belle is knocking on our generous hearts in this trying time. Her two successive hospitalizations in 2022 drained her funds and maxed out her loans. I know Belle does not want to be a burden to others, so I am doing this crowd-funding on her behalf.
