Dharma is 2 yrs old. In her short 2 yrs of life,

Baby Dharma has endured many different obstacles. At 4 months old Dharma was hospitalized for seizures, it was at this time her parents found out that she is completely blind. Dharma has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. Her eyes didn't develop correctly. She is missing the back half of both of her eyes. Including the retnia, macula, and the optic nerve. Because of this her left eye has been having issues of its own. She has had cellulitis in her eye 3 times. Her left eye also has what is called Phthisis Bulbi. Essentially her body is rejecting her left eye. It is shrivialing up and dying. This is extremely painful, even for an adult. On July 8th, just 3 days before Dharma's 2nd birthday, her parents found out that Dharmas left eye might have to be removed. On August 3rd her parents were told her eye has to be removed. She is scheduled to have surgery to have her eye removed on September 23rd. She will then need to have a prosthetic eye made for her. Which her insurance won't cover because they see it as cosmetic. Prosthetic eyes are between $2300 and $6500.
