First of all, thank you… thank you… thank you for being here and reading this! As most of you may know, Angie, at age 42 (daughter of Michelle and Rick Nietfeld), has been battling Stage 3 Breast Cancer since her initial diagnosis in May, 2023. To date, she has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the breast cancer tumor enough to make it feasible to operate for a mastectomy (possibly in December).
Angie is a very loving mom who has worked incredibly hard to provide for her children while simultaneously fighting for her life with stage 3 breast cancer. Angie has taken this journey in stride, continuously being strong for her family and friends.
She received her first round of chemotherapy in August for which she had severe adverse reactions. After 12 hours and doctors/ nurses changing the chemotherapy regime three times, she was allowed to return home. Her four children- ages 15, 14, 8 and 5- have been incredibly brave yet frightened and confused for their mother.
Angie will continue to fight, which is part of her nature, but the struggle to undergo chemotherapy every 3 weeks is grueling.
Though she's enjoying little moments with her family and friends, Angie has been dealing with more and more pain, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, colon infection and emotional lows with each additional chemo treatment. Her muscles are weak and she spends most of her day resting.
Family and friends work to meet Angie and her family's physical, social, and personal needs at this time, but are asking for some assistance with financial needs for the medical expenses. She is the most loyal, thoughtful and giving person and this is our turn to give back.
To know Angie, is to know she would never ask for help or a single donation. We can step in to assist with some crushing debt and financial burden this debilitating disease brings. Even with very minimal health insurance, the cost of Angie’s medical bills are just too much for one person, one friend or one family, to bear. Fortunately, the power of many can make a significant difference.
Asking anyone to donate is difficult for the simple reason, we never know what anyone else is going through. With that being said, please know every grand gesture or dollar donated is a gift that will resonate with Angie forever. The support alone will help boost her morale, and together, we can keep Angie smiling as she takes on the challenge of kicking breast cancer.
I asked Angie if she approved of me establishing a Go Fund Me page. She was humbled and completely moved by the offer. The donations will be routed directly to Angie’s personal checking account. This will give Angie some peace of mind for her hospital and medication bills, and the daily living costs for her children. This is why in a desperate act of LOVE, I am seeking the financial help of everyone I can. Even if you are unable to donate, your prayers and ability to pass along Angie’s story will mean the world to her, her children, and her family. I will keep you updated on her status.
With Angie’s blessing, please continue to share her story, keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
Angie’s Godmother… Melody
