Lets help Angel in his recovery
Donation protected
I am starting this fund for Angel Garcia and his family!! They are in need of our help. I do have permission to share this.
Dear friends of the Garcia family, this fund has been started to help offset the cost of medical expenses due to a tragic accident that Angel was involved on March 26, 2023. Angel was driving on the 528 ramp when someone cut him off. Angel's car fell 50 feet onto the I-4 . Angel was airlifted to ORMC and had 2 emergency surgeries on that same day. He was intubated and is receiving treatment for 12 fractured ribs, a right hip fracture, several lacerations, a cut in his left cornea, 7 fractured vertebrae, a broken back, and paralysis from his chest down. Angel is currently facing financial hardship as he has no long-term coverage.
Angel is a loving husband, a great father, a loving son and a generous community member and a passionate colleague. His family, including his mother, three young daughters, son and wife, are now in a state of shock and distress as Angel was the sole provider.
During this difficult time, we, as a community, would like to come together to support Angel's family. We are organizing a fundraiser and ask for your help by contributing to this cause. Your generous donations will help ease some of the financial burdens that his family is currently facing.
We appreciate any contribution, no matter how small. Your kindness and support mean everything to us and will make a significant difference in the lives of Angel's family. Thank you for your generosity.
MESSAGE FROM HIS DAUGHTER NICOLE
you know when they put on the baby t-shirts that a girl is a “daddy’s girl”.. well they weren’t lying. my dad is my best friend. my twin in fact. my whole life whether it was good or bad i have always heard “you’re just like your father” “you look exactly like your father” “you get that from your father”. my whole life i’ve known that i take after my dad and i’ve never thought that was a bad thing. him and i are both very loud, very loving and caring, very goofy, BIG thrill seekers and we share the same interests such as liking the same movies, going on roller coasters of course, and our huge love for shoes. i could go on and on about how similar we are but that would go on forever.
march 28. that was the day i found out about what happened to my dad. i remember getting a call from my grandma as i’m skipping class (sorry dad) and i didn’t pick up only because i didn’t want to get caught of course so i texted her simply asking “what’s up”. the response i got was not the one i expected or wanted. my heart sank to the lowest point i think it could go. “your dad has been in an accident… he fell fifty feet high and broke his spine and ten ribs”. that was honestly the worst message i could’ve ever received in my life. every memory with him ran through my head and i started to panic. the thought of how it happened and the thought of me losing him was so painful. when he had to have surgery i never doubted him and i knew he’d make it but all i wanted and what i NEEDED was for him to survive it because the thought of not being able to hug him, goof with him, play with him, spend time together, bugging him and telling him i love him killed me.
my dad loves superman and he’d argue with anyone if they told him superman wasn’t stronger than other superhero but he can’t argue with me because in my eyes he himself is superman. my dad is my superman. he is one of the strongest people i know and knowing that he survived this proves he’s the actual man of steel and everyone i know believes it too. now that the hard part is almost over everything will only get better from here and i know he will get through this. things may be a challenge from now on but its a challenge we’re all willing to take for him. we will all continue to make amazing memories with you dad because its only ever fun and good times with you. we love you so much and we will keep sending positive energy your way.
i love you - your favorite obviously
MESSAGE FROM HIS DAUGHTER MARISSA
I keep thinking about the weekend before my dad's accident, Me, my sister and dad, and grandmother all went to the fair. We spent the whole day there going on rides and eating a ton of junk food. My dad has always been an adventurous and risk-taking kind of guy. This memory will hold a special place in my heart. after seeing my dad in the hospital, so weak and vulnerable, fighting for his life, I doubted I would ever have a day like that with him again. He must continue to receive the best care he can get. my dad is a fighter, he's strong, and he still has a purpose in my life. My dad has always been there for me and has never given up on me. I love him with all my heart and I'm looking forward to the new memories we will make together.
p.s i love you dad! xoxo M.G
