Ciao, mi chiamo Ilaria.

Nel 2021, per lavoro, comincio a interfacciarmi con una piccola azienda alimentare a Gaza. In quell'occasione, ho conosciuto Alaa Zarouk e da allora siamo rimaste in buoni rapporti. Dall'8 ottobre 2023 abbiamo cominciato a scriverci con più frequenza e posso affermare che Alaa è diventata una buona amica.

Se non ho sue notizie, inizio a spaventarmi e a prepararmi al peggio. Per fortuna, fino ad ora, se non riesce a scrivere è a causa della connessione Internet.

La famiglia di Alaa è composta da lei, da suo marito Mohamed, dai piccoli B. (5 anni), A. (3 anni) e Sara (2 mesi). Questa famiglia non vuole uscire dalla Striscia di Gaza ma sogna un futuro in Palestina. Ho deciso di aiutarla a raccogliere i fondi necessari per far vivere in modo dignitoso lei e la sua famiglia.

Dall'inizio dell'offensiva militare israeliana, Alaa e la sua famiglia hanno dovuto spostarsi molte volte da Gaza City, città in cui vivevano, verso il sud della Striscia. Ora vivono in una stanza di un appartamento a Deir Al Balah, per evitare la tendopoli, con difficile accesso a cibo e ad acqua pulita, e ai prodotti per l'infanzia.

I fondi raccolti serviranno per pagare l'affitto, l'acquisto di cibo, vestiti e medicine.

L'ultima volta che ho inviato denaro ad Alaa, ho usato Western Union e ha funzionato: ci sono voluti alcuni giorni in più del solito, ma li ha ricevuti.

Hello, my name is Ilaria. In 2021, for business reasons, I started interacting with a food company in Gaza, called Mazaj General Trading. On that occasion I met Alaa Zarouk and we have been on good terms ever since. However, since October 8, 2023, we started to write to each other more frequently and I can say that Alaa has become a good friend of mine.

If I don't hear from her, I start paniking, preparing for the worse. Luckily, if she can't write it's due to bad internet connection.

Alaa's family is composed by her, her husband Mohamed, and their son B. (3 years old) and daughter A. (1 year old).

This family does not want to leave the Gaza Strip becase they dream a future in Palestine. I decided to help her raise the necessary funds for her and her family to live in dignity.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military offensive, Alaa and her family have had to move many times from Gaza City, the city where they lived, to the south of the Strip. They now live in a room in an apartment in Deir Al Balah to avoid the tent city, with difficult access to food, clean water, and baby supplies.

The funds raised will be used to pay rent, purchase food, clothes and medicine. Last time I sent money to Alaa, used Western Union and it worked: it took some days more than usual but she received them.
