PLEASE HELP ME TO HELP MY SISTER SUZIE.
Donation protected
As most of you already know my sister Susan was viciously assaulted over 24 years ago. This resulted in her being blinded in her left eye. Over the years Susan has endured 18 operations up to November this year. In one of these operations it was necessary to remove her physical eye and be fitted with an implant and prosthetic. This too broke down over the years, leaving her unable to wear her prosthetic in the end.
Susan was told in September 2023 that the hospital in Dublin can do no more to help her and suggested a consultation with a specialist in London. This would be at her own expense. Susan met with Mr Raman Malhotra in London in March of this year, he is confident she can have her beautiful face back to normal and she can stop hiding behind her hair. She needs a complete socket reconstruction with skin grafts taken from other parts of her body which will take three major operations at a cost of 5000 sterling per operation. This does not include flights, accommodation or any of the added little extras involved.
Susan started her journey in London with the first operation back in July this year, and has had complications already adding to the expense with extra travel back and forth.
Susan is up to her 'eyeball' (pardon the pun) in debt already, working so hard trying to pay for all this, she's had to take so much time off work and is very lucky she has employers that are supportive of her but I see how anxious she is about the whole process. As my big sister, my only sister, its hard to watch what a toll this last 20 odd years has been on her. She's so worried about how she will manage with her little family, her home, her job and money.
Susan is one in a million, if she can do something for anyone she will and that is why I now want to try to give something back to her. Try to give her as much care and support as she deserves.
Anyone who knows Susan, knows she's an incredibly strong proud woman who has always done her very best, she never asks for help but this is one battle she definitely now needs support with as this hasn't just effected her physical appearance but it has taken a huge toll on her mental health.
If you can help in any way possible.. A share, a hug, a euro or all three.. Anything to help our Suzie.. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
