I’m Giacomo Soddu, from Italy, I started this fundraising for Alaa Foura, a 21 years old palestinian guy, after he contacted me in May 2024, when he was displaced along with his family in Deir Al-Balah, after his house in northern Gaza was bombed. Alaa reached me out via Instagram. I asked him how I could help, he told me he needed to buy food, to fix the broken tent where he lived, and to buy some medicines for his grandmother, therefore I offered some help and collected with some friends what was needed, in direct contact with each donor and Alaa.

In september 2025 Alaa's family was now displaced in northern Gaza, where they received the order from the occupation entity to evacuate. They are facing constant, violent shelling, with no oportunity to sleep.

They have been stucked for a long time, being not phisically able to leave the area, because the rent of a truck to move the family and some belongings was really high (approximately 1000€).

During october the campaign received new donations and i was able to send 800€ to Alaa. This transfer has been vital to let Alaa find a way to rent the truck and leave the dangerous area with his family.

In late november 2025, after a fake peace treaty, gazawi people are far from regaining their dignity. A huge part of them still lives in precarious shelters, still do not have the oportunity to work and earn some money.

Winter is coming, and the relentless rains are flooding the makeshift camps.

In december 2025 we were able to collect oter 400€ - also thanks to a local music event hosted by Cafe Sospeso bar - and to send them to Alaa to finally buy a tent.

Now, in the second half of january 2026, i finally was able to talk to Alaa again, who told me that he got married few weeks ago and his wife is pregnant.

Alaa and his father contracted a new virus hitting Gaza lately, similar to Covid.

I send the money via Paypal, with transfer to his friend’s account, the only way he has to receive money now. I do it periodically, to support Alaa's family in different periods of these terrible years.
