LET’S GO THE EXTRA MILE FOR MYLES

On the evening of April 5th, 2025, 12-year-old Myles from Wright County, Minnesota, was seriously injured when an ATV crash threw him from the vehicle—leaving him helpless, badly hurt, freezing, and barely conscious along Lake Mary.

No one knows what caused the crash—whether the ATV hit something or simply veered off course, but it flipped, and Myles was thrown from the four-wheeler into the water. He was found at the bottom of a slope, surrounded by branches and debris, soaked, shivering, and drifting in and out of consciousness with a broken leg, a fractured jaw, and other serious injuries.

Somehow, he pulled himself out of the water. When asked how, Myles simply said, “God pulled me out.”

He was in a lot of pain and kept crying out, “I’m going to die. I know I’m going to die.”

His rescuers, relatives, and others first on the scene stayed right by his side, repeating, “You’re not going to die. Help is on the way. We’ve got you now.”

By what can only be described as divine intervention, relatives pulling into their driveway noticed a red light in the brush near the edge of the lake. Something about it felt off, so they followed their gut. And it was Myles. His small body was lying there in an awkward position, nearly invisible from the road. That instinct—to follow a feeling—saved his life!

WHAT MYLES ENDURED

First responders from the Winsted Fire Department, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and Ridgeview Ambulance acted quickly. Myles was transported to a nearby airport and airlifted by LifeLink to Hennepin County Medical Center—one of Minnesota’s top trauma hospitals.

Within days, Myles underwent four emergency surgeries:

● His fractured right femur was stabilized with a metal rod.
● His jaw was partially wired shut.
● Multiple teeth were knocked out and broken, requiring extensive future reconstruction.
● Neurological evaluations began to assess the extent of head trauma.

Despite everything, just five days later on April 10th, Myles turned 13 years old. He couldn’t speak. He couldn’t eat cake. He couldn’t laugh like he normally does. But he was alive, and for everyone that loves him—that was the greatest gift of all!

WHO MYLES IS

Myles has been raised with love by a small, tight-knit circle of relatives who stepped in when others couldn’t. His path hasn’t been easy—he’s faced hardship most kids will never know, but he’s never been short on heart.

He’s a fun-loving, active, and kind-hearted boy who loves football, basketball, and soccer. He laughs big, gives great hugs, and always shows up for others.

And now, after facing something no child ever should, he needs all of us in his corner.

THE ROAD AHEAD

Myles is out of the hospital now, but his recovery is far from over.

He will need:

● A jaw bone graft and full dental reconstruction.
● Ongoing neurological testing.
● Physical therapy.
● Another surgery to remove the metal rod from his leg.
● Emotional healing from the trauma of nearly dying alone.

He’s currently on a soft-food diet, unable to run, play sports, or fully return to life as he knew it. Emotionally, he’s still processing the fear and trauma of what happened that night.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Because HCMC was out-of-network, Myles’s family is now facing denied insurance claims for his emergency transport, trauma care, and surgeries. The financial burden is overwhelming and growing every day.

Your thoughtful donation, no matter the size, will help ease that burden by supporting:

● Hospital and surgical costs.
● Dental reconstruction and long-term care.
● Travel expenses for medical visits.
● Therapy and follow-up care.

All funds will be managed by a designated family representative and third-party to ensure full transparency and accountability.

If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing Myles’s story. You never know who might be moved to help.

Let’s go the extra mile for Myles!

From our hearts to yours—thank you for helping make a difference!
