Skylar tested positive for covid-19 on 8/9/2021, at the age of 35. It is believed that he caught this on duty after attending a law enforcement conference. He was hospitalized shortly after on 8/15/2021 for low blood pressure and breathing issues. Fast forward to November 2021, he has survived the placement of a pace maker, intubation leading to a tracheotomy, medically induced sedation, ECMO, and many other things. He is now awake, alert, and able to talk. However, his lungs are shot. He is now in the process at the age of 36, yes having his birthday in the hospital, of needing a lung transplant. He has a loving and supporting family including his wife and one-year-old son. His wife has followed him to the different states to be by his side, all while juggling her own work, their son, and paying for hotels and food on the road. In addition to these costs, it is unclear how much health insurance will cover for the past months in the hospital and now the transplant.  Please help this family as they go through this life-changing experience to cover the cost of medical bills and other costs.
