Let’s GO Aquidneck Island! One of our fellow and favorite islanders, Joe DelaCruz, needs some of our help! One can find Joe at EVERY Middletown Sports event for the high school as well as Pop Warner. If you don’t know him- he’s the guy dressed in blue Islanders gear from head to toe (with matching New Balances of course!) Joe is constantly volunteering at games, with teams, school events, and being a part of the Pop Warner Board. He is the friendliest and warmest person you’ll ever meet- aside from the day before a big game where he gets a little competitive on Facebook! Joe is not only a huge part of his community, but he lives for his family. He misses being able to be with his daughter, Mia, a college student, and his son, Julien, who is a senior at MHS.

Before Christmas, Joe was hospitalized, finding out the news none of us ever want to hear. Now Joe is fighting a solid fight against the “Big C”. But he is going to be hung up for a while as he heals and overcomes the many health challenges he is still facing. As much as Joe is a symbol for our community, let’s show him what he means to all of us and help him in this time of need. This island loves Joe! Please donate and share! #LETSGOFORJOE
