Our very close friend and co-worker of many years, accidentally ran his hand into a meat grinder at age of 13 while helping his stepfather. As a result, he lost his right hand. Despite this setback, he has never let his disability hold him back. He hired into Caterpillar as a machinist technician, defying all odds. He has proved himself as a model employee, a skilled machinist...never once asking for modifications, for his condition. What the strongest of men can do with two good hands Curtis found a way to compensate with one. He has exhibited a wonderful sense of humor with regard to his situation. Curtis has lived wearing the same prosthetic hand made of of rubber for more than 16 years. One can only imagine the wear and tear within a machining environment.
