Hi everyone I’m Janice Cornwell , I am fundraising to help Arayah (my granddaughter) to be able to get to her appts and infusions she needs. Last October 2022, she was diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis, it has really effected and changed her life tremendously. Our whole family’s life. She has to go to Riley’s Infusion Center in Indianapolis to receive her infusions as she needs them. She has received iv steroids, IVIG, and Rotuximad treatments so far. Also has had Plasma Peresis. She is also involved in Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy every week here in Evansville. Since October last year Arayah has not been able to attend school (the infusions destroys her immune system) and Amber Barnhill (her mother, my daughter) has not been able to return to full time work since then d/t Arayah can not be left alone d/t safety reasons. These infusions usually are done over a few days for approx 8-10 hrs each day and then require over night stays, food and gas. Your not admitted in the hospital, your going to a Infusion Center every day and getting your infusion then come back next day and get another one etc. so you have to have place to stay because we live 3 hrs away. Not to mention wear and tear on her car. Ronald McDonald house is always booked up far in advance. Our family has been good about pulling together and helping to provide a hotel, gas and money or food, when we can. Amber also has some bills of her own to pay each month, has to keep maintenance up on her old car and as time is passing it’s getting harder for her to do everything she needs to, to meet hers and Arayah’s needs, pay her bills and be off work as much as she needs to be , then have these trips to Indy to make. I would be so grateful for any donations made big or small to help Amber and Arayah with the exspence of these trips and they are usually atleast a trip every month between infusions and seeing Neurologist. Anything just to help her get to these appts to help her be able to provide hers and Arayah’s needsJust until they can figure this all out and have some answers for Arayah, and Amber can get back to work full time. Anything will be appreciated and I know her and and Arayah will be thankful for what ever they get. Again thanks to anyone able to help.
