My mother contracted COVID-19 whilst working on the frontline at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Wednesday the 15th April 2020 is a day I will never forget. My beloved Mother, Grandma, friend and Queen, Esther Iyabode Akinsanya, passed away due to a brief illness as a result of COVID-19. My mother was a kind, gentle, loyal and caring woman who wanted nothing but happiness for not just me and my younger sister but also all the people around us. I will describe my mum as an altruistic person who put us and everyone around her first in all circumstances.
She was a devoted and diligent nurse that worked for the NHS for over 20 years. She worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she caught the virus while in active service on the frontline treating and being in contact with COVID-19 patients. Our Angel left behind myself (her eldest; Samuel Akinsanya), my younger sister Racheal (14 years old), my son Elisha (3 years old) and her older sister Mary (Big M) who is also an NHS nurse currently in a coma fighting COVID-19 - I ask that you please keep Big M in your prayers as she is all we have left in terms of the immediate family.
I seek your financial support to help cover funeral related costs regarding the coffin, plot, interment, funeral director fees, doctors fee and other disbursement costs as I wish to give her a beautiful burial that she deserves. As well as immediate financial relief for my family to help us during this challenging time. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and God Bless.
