Let's Give Michael Azar A Lift!

Hello All,
I am starting this GoFundMe account to help the wonderful Michael Azar (husband of Tayler and father of Easton and Jake). If you’ve met Michael you can’t help but adore him – whether it’s through his work or high school, church or his ice hockey championships, or through his loving devotion to Tayler and his children. Michael’s wonderful smile and loving, generous spirit has lifted many people and now we need to send some help back his way.
Many of you know that Michael was involved in an accident in August which resulted in a broken neck and spinal cord injuries and he is now paralyzed from the chest down. He was in the hospital from August until December and had multiple surgeries during this time. There is hope that with proper therapy Michael will walk again and resume his life with his family but meanwhile he is staying with his parents.
This accident has had a huge impact on Michael and his family. There are a tremendous number of expenses which are not covered by insurance.
One of the first priorities is that Michael needs a van especially equipped with a wheelchair lift in order to attend his many medical appointments and physical therapy. His physicians at TIRR Memorial Hermann are a good hour’s drive each way and the cost of a para-transport service is over $300 per trip, with multiple trips each week.
Michael’s parents, Pat and Shari Farrell, are still working full-time and their budget does not stretch to cover the many accommodations needed to make their home ADA accessible. His parents have been researching to find the best situation for Michael and will need to have extensive renovations to their home. For instance, the lowest bid for his type of handicap shower was $10,000 and that doesn’t include taking out the linen closet so a wheelchair has easy access. Other accommodations will include installing ramps as well as adding and widening doorways.
Many of you have asked what you can do to help. As you can imagine it is a very expensive process to recover from this type of injury between home renovations, health care, transportation, different therapies, medical equipment expenses, etc.
We would like to alleviate the financial obligations so Michael and his family can concentrate on his healing. I am writing this to call on all prayer warriors to reach into their hearts and pockets and make a donation to help Michael get his life back. Hebrews 13:16 says, ""And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
Shari (Michael’s mother) is my best friend forever, we grew up together in Louisiana, and there is no mother who loves her sons more than she.
