Some of you may already know that our beautiful friend and colleague Karen Mitton has been battling breast cancer for the last 3 years. After chemo, surgery and radio therapy we thought Karen had escaped its clutches but just before spring arrived this year Karen received the devastating news that the cancer had returned, she has been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and is now officially ‘living with cancer’.
Those of you who know Karen may also know how brilliantly strong she is, how she keeps smiling and keeps going no matter what life throws at her. She is an amazing friend to us, a wife to Paul and most importantly, Mum to 9 year old Edgar and Meredith who is 6, Karen loves them both immeasurably.
Cancer treatments are progressing all the time and we won’t lose hope that something may be found in time to help Karen survive but in the meantime she needs to make time count and build memories for her beautiful children. In short Karen needs a holiday!
What can you do to help? Please sponsor us! We are building a raft to paddle pier to pier (Brighton’s famous West and Palace piers) to raise money, we hope to be able to pack them all off on a family holiday, to bring a little bit of normal to their lives, a little bit of rest and relaxation.
Please join us in helping Karen make some wonderful memories with her family.
