Let's give Jo the send off she deserves…

It is with great sadness to create this GoFundMe page to raise funds for help to give Jo the send off she deserves.

About Jo

Jo Smith was an incredibly strong woman, a blessing to all who knew and loved her. Sadly, Jo spent most of her life trapped in alcoholism, something she never gave up trying to quit. 

Her strength and resilience finally paid off, when she finally beat the addiction in 2022 shortly before her 60th birthday. Since that time, she has been blessed to rebuild her relationship with her daughter Ann and her grandchildren Clarease and Alfie.

For the past 10 months the family have made some incredible memories. But sadly it was short lived as Jo was forced to fight again after she was diagnosed with incurable cancer. 

It is with great sadness to say that Jo passed away over the weekend.

Jo fought her whole life, battling addiction. She never gave up trying to be a better person for her daughter Ann. 

Unfortunately Jo was robbed of so much happiness in life as she battled with her addiction. She never gave up though! 

With her daughter by her side, and a smile on her face she was able to go to rest, in peace. 

Ann's Story 

Ann, like her mother, is a strong woman, someone who I'm proud to call a friend. I have been friends with her for over 30 years. 

Even after all those years she still blows me away with her resilience and tenacity. Always going out of her way to help others with a "Giving up is not an option" attitude. 

Throughout the years, Ann had an on and off relationship with her mum Jo. Due to her mum's battles with addiction. She never gave up hope though, that one day they could enjoy happy memories together in Jo's recovery. 

Ann unfortunately had to stop working so she could care for mum, and take her to hospital appointments. Sadly, Ann watched mum deteriorate right to the very end. 

Which brings me to the reason for this GoFundMe.

The Funding.

I know Ann hates asking for anything! She's had to be independent her whole life! But I know she would appreciate any support though. 

Ann would love to be able to give her mum a good send off. Despite only having 10 months to rebuild her connection with her mum, they shared an unbreakable bond. 

Unfortunately, having had to stop working and the cost of living crisis, she is now stuck with the dilemma of how she is going to cover funeral costs. 

So, with her permission I have set up this GoFundMe to see if we can get any help. 

On that note. Would you please be able to support Ann at all? Any little will help.
