I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
There are certain people that you run across that just make your days, weeks, months, years, and life better by meeting them. Rich Colli is just that type of person!
Like many restaurants and bars in 2020 and beyond, the bar that Rich owns, Varga Bar, has run into some difficult times. If you've ever sold or drank a beer in Philly, you have undoubtedly been in this amazing bar! Varga is a classic Philly bar and institution. They have incredible food and a great bar program. They've been around for over a decade and during that entire time, Rich has been at the helm as the General Manager and now owner.
Just this past August he officially purchased the bar. Due to the pandemic and subsequent regulations, it has been a hard year. Because of his recent purchase it appears he isn't being allowed to qualify for federals loans and grants under federal Covid relief due to him not having previous sales and income from the previous year, even though the bar was around, but he wasn't the owner yet.
Let's help him out with some donations, so that he can be a little more worry free this winter before they can get back in a better place in the spring with outdoor dining, less Covid cases, and a more worry free eating environment.
Rich created a GoFundMe earlier in 2020 to help support his staff during the initial wave of the virus. Let's now give back to Rich for all the great times we've had at Varga. Let's thank for him all the beer he bought from our breweries! Let's thank him for all the free rounds of beers he's given us. Let's thank him for all the great meal and an amazing meeting place for friends to gather! Let's thank him for being the unofficial bar of PBW.
