Dear Wonderful Friends (Near and Far), Our Families, Colleagues, Coworkers, Patrons and Regulars, Friends of Friends,

I’m sad to inform you that Nathan is in need of our love, support, prayers, positive vibes, assistance and HELP!!!

Two weeks ago, out of the blue, our dear friend Nathan received some of the worst news a person can get.  He was diagnosed with metastatic (Stage 4) pancreatic cancer.  After a hard week of numerous tests, waiting around, and not knowing the next steps, he then suffered a MAJOR stroke.  Nate now remains in critical care at Piedmont Hospital. Right now, the first goal is to make him as comfortable as possible.  This includes his rigorous and in-depth care in the hospital and beyond, and this fight is going to be a major uphill battle that nobody saw coming.  Since his stroke, his treatment path has changed, and we are now looking down a whole new road. This is now VERY URGENT and Nathan needs our support........

As you probably know, when Nathan enters anyone’s life, you are FOREVER CHANGED.  He touches your soul and is there to be a major part of it.  You can’t forget that infectious laugh, smile, and beautiful friendship. He is here to stay and will do anything for you.

I know this personally after 13 years of unconditional friendship and love (as many of you do).  He has touched so many hearts and bettered so many of us, whether it’s through dancing or teaching at the Atlanta Ballet/Kennesaw State University/Emory University, having him explain the history of dance (to those like me who have no idea) and being that guru that he is, watching his numerous ballet dvds, being lucky enough to enjoy one of his famous dinner parties and having him cook for you, or the many, many years he has been a pillar in the Atlanta restaurant scene and taken care of ALL OF ATLANTA (from working at The Buckhead Diner for 10 years and Aria for over 15 years).  Although Nate has worn many hats, he has always stayed grounded and has wanted all the love around him. These donations will specifically be used for his 24/7 in home care and supplies, his major medical and personal bills, and his end of life expenses.

So now we are asking you....PLEASE RALLY AROUND HIM. HE NEEDS THE LOVE NOW.  We need to show the support he has shown all of us throughout the years.  These donations will ensure the continuation of his care and making sure he is comfortable.

Melody is the Medical Proxy, Durable Power of Attorney and Executor for Nathan Hites. They have been friends and Nathan has been a part of her "extended family" for many years. She will be withdrawing the funds and utilizing one of her own, unused bank accounts to pay Nathan's outstanding bills, which includes medical bills and supplies, 24/7 home care, ongoing living expenses, and end of life expenses.  For medical expenses, Melody will be delivering funds via check. When requested (and if allowed by Go Fund Me), Melody will be using Paypal/Venmo for bills where receipts have been submitted to her and expenses have already been paid by the individual(s).

If you don’t feel comfortable donating here, please reach out to me for other options.

I would like to personally thank Melody, Sarah and Boris for being the “Communication Line” and the “Go To’s”. WHAT A SUPPORT SYSTEM! They have kept everyone in the loop and have been there every step of the way with Nate.

From the 4 of us, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts, anything and everything you can do at this time is wonderful and means the world to Nathan for your love and support.

PLEASE POST/FORWARD IN YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA AND FRIEND GROUPS.

XOXO,
Kristina, Melody, Sarah, and Boris

Just a few loving quotes from some very special people in Nathan’s Life:

“Nathan, always a gentleman, is thoughtful, considerate and a consummate professional.  Nathan only knows one way to do anything, he does it the right way.
His passion for humanity and the arts is all consuming.  He has an eye for great design and style and has impeccable taste.  His councel is always sought and appreciated.
Our annual team holiday extravaganza at Aria is a party that everyone looks forward to all year long.  Nathan, always somewhat reserved, was called upon to be the master of ceremonies and handled it with aplomb.  His quick wit and coy smile brightened the room.
Nathan is a student of his craft, a student whose studies brought him to his calling.  Nathan is a teacher who loves to teach and pass his knowledge and experience to others. He is very good at it, so good that he trained most of the dining room staff.  His connection to us is enduring, his legacy profound. “  -
Gerry Klaskala, Chef/Owner of Aria Restaurant

“Nathan has been one of the most impactful people in my life. His passion for dance is so evident and the energy and love he brings as a teacher and friend has shaped me into the dancer and person I am today.” - Brooke Gilliam, former “dance history” student and current Atlanta Ballet Company dancer

“Nathan is a beacon in the appreciation of dance as a fine art form. His depth of knowledge and passion for dance are unparalleled. He is also a beautifully nuanced and supportive teacher, whose classes I always look forward to.” - Jackie Nash, Atlanta Ballet Principal dancer

“Nathan is always a shining beacon of positivity in any room he steps into. Whether it‘s work, casually hosting dinner parties at his house, or even just us two “fangirling” on the couch over his latest ballet DVD purchase. He is always so welcoming, infectious to be around, and everything he does, he makes sure it‘s with his whole heart!” - Jacob Bush, Atlanta Ballet Principal dancer

“Nathan Hites has been instrumental in changing the lives of hundreds of youth and young adults with Down syndrome in Europe and the United States through his unbelievably big heart.” - Boris Richir, Director of United Dance
