Let‘s get Willow moving!

The TinyTrax is a compact, lightweight, farm-life-suitable and FUN paediatric power-chair, only available in the UK. Willow trialed the TinyTrax during a NAPA Centre London therapy intensive earlier this year and showed huge potential and motivation for learning to drive it herself. The TinyTrax is different than other paediatric power chairs, in that it can easily fit and be liften into the back of a standard vehicle, meaning Willow can use it anywhere we go, and anywhere she goes with other people, without needing a specialised vehicle. It is also designed to be maneuverable and safe on non-tar-sealed surfaces, which means Willow can use it at home to visit her pony and to feed the chickens, and for family outings in the forest. It is low to the ground, making it the right height for interaction with peers, and it looks FUN and inviting, not huge, cumbersome and scary.

Research shows that using a power-chair is not only important for independence and empowering young individuals, but also contributes hugely to developmental gains as well as cognitive development. Decision making, planning, spacial awareness, awareness of surroundings, etc., are all required skills that will be developed.

All of Willow’s therapy intensives we do are self funded and very costly, and we are very fortunate that most of her equipment is funded. However the TinyTrax, due to it being only available in the UK, must be self-funded by us, and comes with a price tag of 7950.00 British Pounds (9590.00 Euros, 17150.00 NZ Dollars). We have overstretched in Willows therapy budget for 2025, with three NAPA intensives as well as several ABM intensives which run into the multiple tens of thousands, however we know from experience how valuable these intensives are for Willow and she would not be where she is today without them. Getting Willow independently mobile with a TinyTrax has been a goal since she trialled one in April 2024. She has herself already chosen her colour... hot pink of course!
