Help Vicky Heal Without the Stress

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

I’m starting this fundraiser for my dear friend Vicky, who is going through something none of us ever expected.

Just a week ago, we were gathered around 19 year old Vicky, throwing her a goodbye party to wish her well on the next chapter of her life. She was excited, nervous, and so ready to head off to Barrie to start her dream program in Police Foundations. Finally taking the first step toward her lifelong goal of becoming a police officer and serving her community.

None of us could have imagined that only a few days later, Vicky would be in the hospital after a terrible car accident on her way to work. Unfortunately, she had to undergo an emergency operation due to her spleen busting and creating internal bleeding, and that resulted in losing her spleen, the organ that protects ourselves from all types of viruses. She's now faced with a long and tough recovery. Instead of getting ready to leave home and start Police Foundations in Barrie next week — a dream she’s been working so hard for — she’s lying in a hospital bed, medically vulnerable for life, and worried about how she’ll manage everything.

Vicky has always been the kind of person who lights up a room. If you know Vicky, you know she’s one of the most caring, hardworking, and determined people out there. She’s always the one cheering up others, making her family proud, and pushing herself to reach her goals. Becoming a police officer has been her dream for as long as I can remember, and she was finally about to take that first big step.

But now, on top of healing, she has huge worries on her shoulders. We don’t want her to give up on her dream just because of this accident. She’s already been through enough. With everything she’s facing, the last thing Vicky should be stressing about is money.

The truth is, living without a spleen will be tough, dangerous , and she will always need to seek medical support immediately (within 2 hours) for the rest of her life when signs of illnesses are present. And a medic alet bracelet will need to be worn. Vicky has a long road ahead. Recovery without a spleen is tough, and she’ll need time, support, and strength to get back on her feet.

Vicky was ready to serve and protect others. Now she needs our help. If you can, please help Vicky through this. Every little bit will go towards keeping her dream alive — helping her keep her place in Barrie, cover her basic costs, and make sure she can still start school when she’s strong enough. She was working everyday and doing her best to save up for school and life as a student. Now she won't be able to work for a while. Every donation will support her healing, her future, and the dream she’s still determined to chase.

Let’s show Vicky she’s not alone in this, that her community believes in her, and that her accident doesn’t have to take away the future she’s been working for.

Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page means the world. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Vicky.

Thank you so much for helping our precious Vicky. ❤️
